Recently, something happened that really made my skin crawl…
You see, I moved into my apartment about six months ago. It’s got a great view, they allow dogs, and it’s just 3 blocks from my office. I absolutely love it. Except for one thing…
The water pressure was horrendous!
Now, that’s not something I thought about when I was doing my walkthrough before I got it. I turned on the kitchen sink and saw the water pressure was good, so I figured it’d be okay in the shower, too.
Wrong!
The water just comes out in a weak little trickle. I felt like I was barely even getting clean. At work, I felt like there was still soap scum on my skin and shampoo in my hair. It’s gross!
So, I did what any rational, sane person would do…
I got a new shower head. But, once I put that in, the water still barely trickled out! So, I got another one, and the same thing happened!
And, it’s definitely the shower heads. I tried running the water once without a shower head attached, and the water shot out of the pipe.
Well, I admitted defeat and resigned myself to a life of unsatisfying showers, until, one day, everything went wrong…
I had a big meeting with a client, so I set my alarm a little earlier than normal so I would have plenty of time to rinse the soap off when I showered. I didn’t want to take any chances. Except, I set my alarm for PM instead of AM!
Luckily, I only woke up 15 minutes later than I normally do. When I looked at the alarm, I freaked!
I hurried up and jumped in the shower and lathered myself up, washing as fast as I could. I didn’t have enough time to wash my hair, so I ignored it. I tried washing the soap off, but the water pressure was just so weak, it was taking forever…
Frustrated, I jumped out of the shower. Screw it, I thought, it’s time to go.
I quickly got dressed, and I was out the door. But, unfortunately, the story doesn’t end there…
When I met with the client, it was like I had a second skin on top of mine! It felt so gross, and I felt like I just kept itching and itching, and the client definitely noticed. I felt like there were a bunch of little bugs crawling around on my skin! Easily one of the worst experiences of my professional career. I was so embarrassed.
Well, that night, I decided I’d had it. I was going to find the best shower head that God ever put on this earth, if it killed me!
And, after hours of research, I found stumbled on the LuxFlowe, which many people were claiming gave them the best showering experience they’d ever had!
Curious, I decided to look into it…
What is it?
Here’s what I found:
“LuxFlowe is a specially-designed showerhead that increases water pressure, giving you a vigorous rinsing and an all-around better showering experience.”
It has 42 nozzles that shoot out jet streams of water at incredibly high pressure. It’s also adjustable for multiple types of streams, as well as being flexible for different angles of washing.
But, to me, this sounded like a lot of showerheads. Why was this this one so different from others?
How does it work?
Apparently, most showerheads restrict how much GPM (gallons per minute) they use. More gallons per minute means a higher water pressure.
Because of EPA standards, most showerheads limit the amount of GPM they use. They use a fixed restrictor on the inside of the showerhead to stay well below the legal limit.
But, LuxFlowe is the only showerhead to use the maximum amount of water allowed by law. It flows with a full 2.5 GPM, giving you higher water pressure than any other shower on the market!
(Plus, LuxFlowe is the only showerhead that comes with a removable restrictor. More on that later…)
I could see why this was such a sought-after showerhead. But, it still came as a surprise to me when I saw how…
Everybody Seems to Be Upgrading to LuxFlowe
Since its introduction to the market just over a year ago, LuxFlowe has already been installed in over 3 million American homes.
And that’s without being sold in stores! (They’re only sold on the official website.)
I couldn’t believe this thing was THAT popular.
Plus, it’s all from word of mouth. People like you and me can’t stop posting about it on Instagram and telling all their friends.
LuxFlowe has developed somewhat of a “cult” status with over 15,000 5-star reviews
Invigorate your nakedness!
I wanted a decent, inexpensive shower head. With tons of good reviews I decided to give this one a go. Installation was fairly straight forward...removed old head, remove all old pipe tape, add 3 wraps of new pipe tape, install new head. The power of this head is absolutely amazing. I love a hot, steaming shower when I wake up or when my dirty carcass needs a good cleansing. Dirt and soap seem to instantly power wash away when rinsing. The head power is like a mini-massage across my back. It makes my toes curl. WooHoo!
Great no frills shower head
Great no frills shower head. There's a plastic flow suppressor that comes already installed in the head with instructions on how to remove it - so not being a fan of the low flow heads, as soon as I got it out of the box, I removed it. With the restrictor removed, there was almost too much water coming through the head. It was putting more water into the tub than the drain could handle and we'd end up with a few inches of water in the bottom of the tub after maybe a five minute shower - no clogs or anything either. Decided to put the flow restrictor back in and give it a shot. The difference was barely noticeable. The flow was still strong but there was no water collecting in the tub and everything flowed down the drain just fine. Definitely recommend holding onto the restrictor if you decide to take it out - we were happier with it in the unit than without.
Simply amazing
I am not exaggerating when I say this shower head makes showering a pleasurable experience finally. However it does its magic the water comes out with a steady flow that never falters. The first shower with this shower head had me giddy with joy as I luxuriated in being able to use body wash, wash my hair and fully rinse and just feel the steady flow all over. The first few days I was thrilled that my showers could be shorter since I could wash and rinse so much faster but over time I am again now lingering for it is such a pleasure to shower. I am actually taking two a day and don't want to leave. it is so amazing to be able to end the day with a relaxing full force shower that massages and relaxes.
I couldn’t believe the hype around this thing. But, I still wasn’t sold. So, I reached out to a pro, to see if they could give me their professional insight. Here’s what Joanne Desmond, Professional Remodeler, had to say about LuxFlowe:
Kathy, thanks for reaching out!
I absolutely love LuxFlowe. Ever since I was introduced to it about a year ago, I’ve been using it for all my bathroom remodels.
A wimpy shower is my biggest pet peeve, as I think having a good shower every day is important. I mean, who doesn’t appreciate a good shower?
If you’re having problems with your shower pressure, I highly recommend giving LuxFlowe a try. You’ll really notice the difference!

After hearing that professional recommendation, I HAD to try LuxFlowe out for myself!
So, I ordered it online and it showed up in the mail just a few days later.
Immediately, my first impression once I got it out of the box was the sturdiness of it. It certainly didn’t feel like cheap plastic, that’s for sure! I mean, this thing is robust!
Now, I will admit that I thought it was going to be tough to install. (I know nothing about doing these types of things myself.)
But, it actually ended up being way simpler than I thought. All you need is some Teflon tape.
You simply remove the old showerhead by turning it counter-clockwise, install the Teflon tape clockwise on the pipe threads, and then put the LuxFlowe showerhead on by twisting it clockwise. That’s it!
That was it!
Once I put the new LuxFlowe showerhead on, I couldn’t wait to hop in the shower…
It was so strong!
The shower was absolutely blasting me, and it felt a-ma-zing. I felt like I was really getting clean for the first time in months!
And, honestly, the shower was so strong it was like tingling my body. It was like a little jet massage… it was great!
I couldn’t believe how big of a difference there was. It just goes to show how much water those restrictors hold back.
How much GPM does LuxFlowe use?
Since the EPA limits how much GPM showerheads can use, I wanted to check the LuxFlowe and see if I was breaking any laws or anything. (I know, I’m such a wuss about that stuff!)
So, I got a 5-gallon bucket and turned on my shower with the LuxFlowe showerhead attached, and let it run for a minute, then I shut if off.
I checked the bucket and it was just under half-full, which means the LuxFlowe is still staying within the EPA’s 2.5 GPM limit.
I breathed a sigh of relief. I was still a law-abiding citizen!
***However, I did find a way to get even more water pressure. Turns out, LuxFlowe is the only showerhead with a removable restrictor. (You know, that thing that limits how much water comes through the showerhead.) All other restrictors in showerheads are non-removable.
To remove the restrictor, just:
- Remove the screen right and black O-ring right at the base
- Pull out the plastic restrictor with the pliers (it pulled right out for me)
- Put back the screen and O-ring
This ended up greatly increasing the water pressure. However, I found it to be a little too powerful, myself, so I replaced the restrictor and continue to use LuxFlowe as-is.
How much does it cost?
LuxFlowe sells for $44.95, which is about the same as many other showerheads. (And way cheaper than the designer ones!) Except, it’s the only one that lets you take the restrictor out of the back.
(And, honestly, I think if they advertised it as having a removable restrictor, they could sell it for more. But don’t tell them that!)
Is it worth it?
After 6 months of using LuxFlowe, I have to say it’s definitely worth it. Every single time I take a shower, it’s a wonderful experience. The strong water jets just ease my tension and relax my muscles… especially my neck, which gets tense throughout the day.
Being the same price as most other showerheads (and even cheaper than designers), and being the ONLY showerhead with a removable restrictor, it’s 100% worth it!
If you have water pressure problems like I did, or, you just want to feel a stronger water flow in your shower, you need to check LuxFlowe out for yourself!

I bought this to replace the shower head my daughter broke. I literally wish she'd broken it sooner! We had awful pressure in our shower. I was able to install by myself in about 15 minutes. I texted my fiance a video of the water and she said oh my god why didn't we do this before?!
